About Me
I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. After completing my degree I spent seven years treating families, adults and children at Kennedy Krieger Institute specializing in trauma work. I moved to working with students and families as a school social worker in a private school for the past 14 years. Recently I left school social work to concentrate on a full time private practice. I will continue to work at supporting children and adults in continued care while consenting to treatment.

I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, school counseling settings, and an all girls private institution. My areas of expertise include adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, learning differences, and behavioral issues.

Child/Adolescent Therapy
Adolescent therapy is focused on guiding young people through the developmental transition from childhood into adulthood. This therapeutic process includes helping make sense of their thoughts and feelings while managing through stages of transition, including with their family/peers, socially, academically, and emotionally. Some children and families go through additional stressors which may become the focus of therapy, such as blended families, social pressure, divorce/separation, substance abuse, or lack of support. Family therapy can be included at various times in support of the child's mental well-being.
