About

About Me

I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. After completing my degree, I spent seven years at Kennedy Krieger Institute treating families, adults, and children, with a specialization in trauma-focused work. I then served as a school social worker in a private school for 14 years, working closely with students and families to support their emotional and academic success. In 2021, I transitioned from school social work to full-time private practice, where I continue to support children and adults through ongoing therapeutic care.

In addition to therapy, I began offering school consulting and executive coaching in 2021 to further support departments, teams, and individuals seeking to grow professionally, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop alignment within their organizations.

I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of settings, including outpatient clinics, school counseling programs, and an all-girls private institution. My areas of expertise include adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, learning differences, and behavioral challenges.

Treatment Approaches

Individual Counseling

Individual therapy is a collaborative process between both a client and therapist to work toward positive change or improve quality of life. This supportive process can help clients increase communication, learn skills to handle difficult situations, become more self-aware, increase self-confidence and promote healthy decision making.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)  is one approach to help clients identify their thoughts , feelings and behaviors and the impact this has on their mental health in regard to relationships, ability to problem-solve, and gain insight into their impact on relationships in life.  Having better control to influence thoughts, feelings and behavior in improving fulfillment in life.

Child/Adolescent Therapy

Adolescent therapy is focused on guiding young people through the developmental transition from childhood into adulthood.  This therapeutic process includes helping make sense of their thoughts and feelings while managing through stages of transition, including with their family/peers, socially, academically, and emotionally.  Some children and families go through additional stressors which may become the focus of therapy, such as blended families, social pressure, divorce/separation, substance abuse, or lack of support.  Family therapy can be included at various times in support of the child's mental well-being.
